Heroin (morphine diacetate, diacetylmorphine and diamorphine) it also known as smack, h, horse, black, brown, tar and other names. Heroin is the 3,6-diacetyl ester of morphine. It is an active drug itself, but it is also converted into morphine in the body.

Signs and Symptoms of Heroin Abuse

There are many Signs and Symptoms of heroin use. Among them most common Signs and Symptoms are given below.
Ø  Dry mouth.
Ø  Shortness of breath.
Ø  Constricted (small) pupils.
Ø  Disorientation.
Ø  Sudden changes in behavior or actions.
Ø  Droopy appearance, as if extremities are heavy.
Ø  Cycles of hyper alertness followed by suddenly nodding off.

The above signs are not unique to heroin use. More serious warning signs of heroin abuse include injects or consume heroin, possession of paraphernalia used to prepare:
Ø  Burned silver spoons.
Ø  Needles or syringes not used for other medical purposes.
Ø  Aluminum foils or gum wrappers with burn marks.
Ø  Straws with burn marks.
Ø  Missing shoelaces (used as a tie off for injection sites).
Ø  Water pipes or other pipe.
Ø  Small plastic bags, with white powdery residue
